It’s been a busy week of building our website, adding new pages, and planning our January-February 2020 content! Thank you for your support, and for being a part of Miniaturist Bridge!
Our goal each Friday is to send a recap of some of the sites we’ve added during the week, along with as many photos as we can squeeze in to show you the amazing things that are happening in our mini world!
Spotlight on Events
San Diego Miniatures Show, Feb 1-2, 2020
February 1 and 2nd, 2020 will mark the 46th annual San Diego Miniatures Show & Sale. The show is presented by the San Diego Miniature Crafters, and will be held at the San Diego Marriott Del Mar, 11966 El Camino Real, in San Diego, California.
This fun two day event brings together vendors selling dollhouse sized scale miniatures. These talented people come from across the US and sometimes from across ‘the pond’! You are sure to find great pieces for your collections and projects, whether quarter scale, half scale or 1:12. See more information on our Spotlight on Events page for January!

IGMA Guild School
The International Guild of Miniature Artisans (IGMA) Guild School is being held this year from June 13-19 at The Maine Maritime Academy in Castine, Maine. It is an intensive week-long learning experience offering a wide variety of courses taught by exceptionally talented Artisans and Fellows of The Guild.

Just for Kids
Marianne Malone and The Sixty-Eight Rooms
Part of our commitment to the miniature community is in helping introduce and foster the hobby in young miniaturists! To that end, we have a section called “Just for Kids”, where each month we post miniature resources geared to kids.
In January, we had such fun featuring Marianne Malone, author of The Sixty-Eight Rooms time travel adventure series. The four-book series tells the story of 11-year olds Jack and Ruthie, who discover a wonderful secret during a field trip to the Chicago Art Institute’s Thorne Miniature Rooms. The secret? A key that allows them to shrink so that they can sneak inside and explore the room’s secrets! It’s a wonderful series – trust me, I know! I am midway through reading it myself!
Be sure to visit our January Just for Kids page to watch a video of Marianne taking a tour of the Thorne Miniature Rooms!
Making a Mini Dollhouse with Make It Your Own!
We also highlighted a wonderful mini dollhouse project perfect for you to make with the kids in your life! Bonnie Scorer at Make It Your Own shows you how to make and decorate a mini dollhouse using a small drawer organizer and a few extra odds and ends! You can link to Bonnie’s video and her website from our January Just for Kids page!
